RE: Matthews second tournament (and his first medal!)

Sorted - if you replace all the capital letters with lower case and delete the "he" at the end, it works. I would alter your link but I have to go out now, sorry.

Been a while since I updated on Matthew so here goes.

The above link shows him (in red) from an event where he reached the final. In fact in his last 5 events he has got to the final (and won 2 of them).

On Sunday he won an event without dropping a set which was great. Really come on over the last few months and starting to hit the ball harder without losing his consistency (which is where he wins most of his points, as his opponents get fed up and hit the ball out usually!)

Still absolutely loves the game and would play every day if he could. Not all good news, the LTA seem to ignore him totally as he is fairly small and does not play in the robot like way they like all players to play now. Also for the first time ever a couple of weeks ago I had a stand-up row with one of the other parents who called Matt a cheat in front of everyone when he beat their child for 3rd time in a row!

Well done Matthew (the Dan Cox of Sussex? - his opponent looks twice the size of him!) and well done to seagull for passing the final test needed to be considered a true tennis parent! (that'll be the stand up row when another parent calls your child a cheat just for winning, obviously wink)

Well done, Matthew! Keep it up - you have time to grow. How old is he now, Seagull, I have lost track?

Thanks for the update Seagull...glad to see he still loves the game...the fitness and pleasure he will get from playing a sport he loves cannot be over-rated.

Keep it up lad !

LTA finally update the Leaderboard 3 month into the season!

http://www.lta.org.uk/Players/Leaderboards/?run=1-FGM9XL&board=1-FH2RQR&county=Sussex&group=1-FH2RQV

Matt won a Grade 4 event yesterday which gets him another 100 points and automatic entry to a Grade 3 event at the NTC in Roehampton which should be good!

Oh yes - likes to make me suffer!

I was not there on Sunday but apparently he saved 7 match points in the final (he may be making that up of course!)
