omg WHAT A ROLLERCOASTER!!!

Stuck in traffic for 2 hours and came in to see Andy go 2 sets down but what an amazing comeback.

If this does not endure him to UK crowd then nothing will!!

What a fantastic match and what a fantastic performance from Andy.

The transformation from boy to man is complete.

Lets hear from his critics now.

What an excellent comeback from Murray, and well done to him for pulling this off as it is an outstanding win for him.

That said, for 2 and half sets he was totally outplayed by Gasquet, and it was only Gasquet getting tight at the end of the 3rd set that stopped this being a straight sets beatdown with Murray looking no closer to winning a slam that he was beforehand. If one of Murray's returns at 5-4 hadn't just gone in, or he hadn't DFed at break point, Gasquet would have won the match.

First 2 sets the serve was not there at all, and was playing some very average tennis, expect when he went a break point down and suddenly he then remembered how to play, but was being schooled by Gasquet in how to play though.

As soon as he got the break back though the match turned around, with Andy suddenly finding that he does have a useful serve, started to take the ball on and hit winners, while it did help that Gasquet lost the plot and forgot how to play the outstanding tennis of the first 2 sets.

Murray did play an excellent last 2 sets and was the better player in them, and surely now he realises he has to play the agressive way he did at the end, as being passive was killing him at the beginning, and some big serving when it got close helped him.

Great win for him.... but I'm not holding any hope against Nadal unless he plays like he did at the end of the match (and has the crowd behind him like it was today... it seems at last he was getting the kind of reactions Henman and Rusedski used to get)

'....... and that, Richard, is how you win a grand slam match from 2 sets down in front of your home crowd!' biggrin

Second.... he also came from 2-0 down against Andy Ram in the Davis Cup.

Although the fact he was 2-0 down to Andy Ram is something that desperately needs to be forgotten about...

I think he's answered all his critics in one match today -

Are you fit enough to last for a 5 set match? YES

Can you win from 2 sets and a break down? YES

Can you go further than the 4th round of a grand slam? YES

Can you beat a higher ranked player in a grand slam? YES

Can you beat Richard Gasquet having not beaten him before? YES

Can you handle the pressure of centre court at home? YES

Can you control your temper? YES

Is it wrong to sneekily hope that Nadal's knee seizes up for Weds leaving Andy a semi against Clement or Schuettler!!!??

The fitter player won. Gasquet was just hurting for those last two sets- broken in all senses.

Great win for Andy. Thought Gasquet was a total professional at the end-even applauded the crowd a bit (who really helped Andy win it)
