Unfortunately, Bloomers is 15th/16 on the LL list. cry

Can't believe Ferrero beat Querrey. And Vince lost from two sets up. And I am getting worried about Karlovic who I have getting to the q/f over on Court 19, 1 set all against Stadler, and a break down in the third. And as there is no tie-break in the third he will have to break to win it.

I have Karlovic for quarters too so he best come up trumps or I'm out a chunk of points!

The bookies had him as one of the top 8 favourites too, inexplcably given that he's lost in R1 three (now four) years in a row when he's been a big favourite. Even I couldn't see him losing to Stadler though!

It's more a reflection that there are very few people capable of upsetting the top three seeds At least he had a weapon that could conceivably threaten one of them on an off-day for them. Karlovic's odds were still very long, so it's not as if the bookies expected him to do well.

Nishikori retires for the second match in a row. cry.gif

How badly I wish that he had retired in Nottingham qualies instead of here...

By the way, does anyone else think Haase looks a lot like a young Ruud Van Nistelrooy? This is the first time I saw him play and thought so...

I think I hate the first day of 'pickems the most.  You start out with that huge level of optimism, conveniently forgetting last months heartbreak. The within 4 hours it's all fallen apart and you might as well give up.

First the obgligatory pull-out by a GEM. Then bang on cue Nalby starts letting you down. Big Ivo blows it again, Ferreiro does what you least expect ... win on grass, and the whole lot's in tatters.

I don't really care now, it can't get any worse.

I suspect many others have the same picks as you so I wouldn't give up yet.

^ My point, too.

Nothing to worry unless you have Nalby into the semis or Ivo into the quarters. I'm assuming that you don't have Monfils into the quarters...

Firstly, I don't think it was particularly heroic of me to walk up to campus and find a computer with internet connection.

Secondly, i was shocked only 1% went for Stadler to beat Karlovic (I was one of them), but somehow that's always the case for me when I make a really shock pick and it comes off. Those are the ones I'm utterly convinced of and no one else is...oh well, at least I get the points :)

Finally...NUMPTY!!!! I thought about his drawn and I specifically said to myself, "even he can't lose to Dancevic first round" AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
