The match, if it happens, will again be the second on the centre court tomorrow. Andy leads Rodders 4-2 in the head-to-head, their last encounter being in the QFs of the Miami Masters event last year which Andy won. The last time they met on grass, however, was that memorable L32 match at Wimbledon the year before which Andy also won - & in straight sets (7-6(4) 6-4 6-4)! Here's hoping... I haven't seen anything of either player's matches at Queen's this year, so I'm in no position to comment on their likely form...
If Andy's thumb swells up overnight, like they tend to do, and is painful tomorrow morning then I don't see how he would be able to control the racket very well against such a powerful hitter. I will be bitterly disappointed if he withdraws, but on the other hand I would hate him to play injured and put up a poor display, as he did twice in the American hard-court swing last Spring.
No matter what he does the poor lad will have the bashers in full flow - if he withdraws he is a drama queen, cissy, etc. If he plays and gets beaten badly they will have a whale of a time.
Unless he is really close to 100% tomorrow I would rather he was called a cissy than risk causing further damage which might take him out of Wimbledon.

100% agreement with all of that !

Thirded ( basically as I said in the Gulbis thread )
I had terrible problems with it yesterday Drew, it was offline for ages.

Well, if there was still some doubt about the injury, I am glad that Andy has pulled out.
The fact that he did practice this morning and was evidently initially going to play after his scan suggests that there is no real damage and that it is perhaps just a painful sprain that needs a few days to settle down. So, I am quite encourgaed by that.
There is a bigger picture here. And especially after missing so much of last year, including Wimbledon, I think sense has probably prevailed.
Such a shame to have to pull out in the grass court season. Andy doesn't get much luck but he wouldn't want to miss Wimbledon a second year running so if not sure today, he didn't really have much option. Had he played and made it worse and then missed Wimbledon there would be hell to play. Watching the likes of Rafa and Novak this week we need a 100% fit Murray with a decent draw.
