RE: Week 24 - ATP - Queen's Club - R3: Murray versus Gulbis (LAT)

Final set

G serving

15-0 unret
30-0 low bounce
30-15 big bh from M then drop
30-30 G fh un error net
40-30 unret, just long
40-40 G pass just wide
A-40 G fh winner, M slips again, painfully, trainer called again. His ankle went and he appeared to injure his groin.

In truth the court is not playable. Both players are falling over point after point. Murray is taking a big risk just trying to play on this court. He would be well advised to concede the match, given that Wimbledon is less than 2 weeks away.

He's up and walked to his seat to wait for the trainer. Feeling his groin, hope it's not serious

Ha Ha, think John got out of the wrong side of bed today.

But, anyway back to watching John's "pathetic choker" and "loser", who somehow easily won the second set.

No, injury break time again and from the yelp that did seem to really initially hurt when he went down, groin ?

Is it just today's conditions do you think ? Both guys are all over the place in this  match.
Mardy Fish went out with an ankle injury, I know Andy can be a bit of a drama queen but nobody want's to see players falling like ninepins.

Yes, looks as if he is OK.  But you do fear that there is always a possibility of a fall and serious injury out there.

Anyway, hope he can get the momentum back that he had in the second set, largely from attacking more.

Wow, thank God there wasn't any more trouble there! smile.gif

Judging by what you guys are saying about the court, hope they stop the match as soon as possible.

It's not just today, Safin spent most of the time on his a**e on Monday (*) and players were slipping all over the place on Tuesday too. I should imagine the wet weather has made it more an ice rink than a grass court.

(*) though doesn't he always - he's like the hypothetical Hingis/Duckula kids, i.e.

Their offspring, half vampire, half horse
Could hit tennis balls with some force
But when out on the grass
They fell flat on their a*se
They'd been bred to play hard courts, of course
