Neil wins!

6-2 3-6 7-6 (1)

Am I right to say this is a fairly good win?

Yep, pretty much. smile.gif Neil always had a good chance with his serve on the grass, but Rungkat won two rounds at Wimbly Juniors, so had to be the slight favourite.

Boys' Semifinals:

Henrique Cunha [7/1810] of Brazil vs. Neil Pauffley [68/Unr]
Marcus Willis [20/1085] vs. Henri Kontinen [22/1778] of Finland

Rankings in this format: [ITF/ATP]

Of course it'll be a tough match for Neil against a top 10 Junior who (for once) doesn't have an inflated ranking! Cunha's a quality player who's ranked low in the men's game because he doesn't play many of them (like Neil) and has received a few bad draws in the ones he has attempted. Even though he's a clay specialist as suggested by his nationality, he's more than capable of playing on grass, as shown by the fact that he made the quarters of Roehampton last year. In an outrageous third round match there, he won the super tiebreaker, which had replaced the third set because of persistent rain delays, with a scoreline of 31-29 (nope, you're not reading wrong!) against Ignatik.

That said, Neil is a match for almost anybody in Juniors on grass as it suits his game very well, so he can get the upset - without a doubt.

Kontinen is a bad draw for Marcus even though he had beaten him a few days ago at RG. He has taken sets off Olejniczak and De Voest this year on fast surfaces. Still, Willis has beaten far better players than him and is the favourite for this on paper, if only by a bit.

Won't it be brilliant to have an all Brit final? smile.gif We had one in 2004, when Kasiri beat Rushby in three sets.
