RE: RG R3: Andy Murray (GBR) [10] vs Nicolás Almagro (ESP) [19]

From another forum (Kings of Clay):

"Almagro is 0-4 in 4 set matches and 0-3 in 5 set matches in his career"

let's hope that remains true.

Didn't believe that, but checking it out does in fact prove it to be true.

Come on Murray... this is a good performance so far, and this is a great chance to reach the 4th round

Andy reeled 4 points off in a row to break from 40-15.

He definitely looks better than almagro at the moment.

I don't want to get too hysterical and over the top, but this match and his last against Acasuso could have a big impact on his season. His play has been fairly poor this year, and even though he has won a couple of tournaments this year and a couple fo big matches, he had seemed a bit poor. These performances are reminiscent (although perhaps not quite as intense) as his match against Nadal at AO.

A good run here, and i think it'll give him the confidence to go break the top 5 this season. Marsters Cup, easily.

Hard to disagree with that mkk. I think what would be absolutely MASSIVE though would be if he were to make the quarters which would be odds on should he win here. To get that monkey off his back and make his first slam quarters will take a bit of pressure off him in the slams.

Also, his touch and reactions at the net have been sublime last 2 matches, he could do some serious damage at Wimbledon
