Mervatron, Laura is referring to the World Junior Tennis competition. We'll have a fair chance of winning that with her as our number 1 and Jess as our number 2.
The Summer Cup is a complete event in its own right. But if you finish as one of the top few teams there, you get the chance to play at World Junior Tennis, so it's also a qualifying tourney for WJT.
The 16s team is playing in Queenswood, by the way. In the opening tie against France, Tara won by 60 76, Heather by 61 62 and then we lost the doubles.
why they bother to take a third player, if he or she is not likely to have a chance to play? Is this just our way? I saw from the draw 3rd players from most of teams either played single or at least doubles. It would be a waste of time to go if players don't get to play!
