yeah whats happened this year? Two americans (Fish and Odesnik) beat high profite argies, and another (Isner) almost did. Odesnik also won another match.
Odesnik is quite solid on clay, and I'd probably say it's his best surface, so not too much of a surprise to see him still in the tournament.
But Ginepri beating Andreev on clay is the funniest result I've seen for a long time, probably since Greg managed to beat Robredo in Rome.... and seeing as he's likely to play Florent Serra in the next round, he could even reach the fourth round
make that two breaks down. Andreev got one back, just to hand it tamely over again. I have him in the quarters. I'm not best pleased
Ginepri serving for the match at 5-2. (anyone we know in the crowd that can loudly remind Ginepri that Americans can't play on clay?!)
Ginepri wins, which I'm happy about, even though I had him to win, I had him going out next round anyway, so happy to see him gone, reduces that section of the draw to a virtual washout for everyone.
I checked in again on the live scoreboard a few minutes ago , having earlier seen that everything seemed to be going to plan. Suddenly everythings fallen apart !!
What the hell is Nalby doing ? What's Blake up to ? Why is Stan a break down ?
Looks like I'm going to have to spend an our in front of the RG live scoreboard to nurse these babies home before I can relax again.
Worse still I've got another "GEM" who has simply got to win against Horna, so that's going to require some TLC to bring in later.
Wish I'd never entered this bloddy ridiculous competition now
Brilliant (the bit in bold like this)
"Wish I'd never entered this bloddy ridiculous competition now " ... says the man who ended the day in 2nd place overall!
... and that's despite Numpty and James Flake "only the crumbliest, flakiest choker" (from the CC team board, I can't claim this as mine!) both losing.

looks like eblunt has pulled away from me. I'm still pretty pleased with my performance so far. my world ranking dropped heavily in recent weeks and i need to reneter the top 20.
Coming to think of it... There are very few people who will have Tursunov/Chardy winning the next round - probably 10-15. And there are surely loads of people who have Nalby in the quarters (I have Almagro). So I'll probably break even or gain if Nalby loses.
Allez, Jeremy!
One person predicted Chardy would get to rd 3 [no one predicted he'd get to rd 4] and only 3% [about 10 entrants] redicted that Turusnov would get to round 4.
So all those who predicted nalby to do well, would want Chardy to beat Dimi.
The guy who picked Chardy to beat Numpty was the same muppet who picked Dammit to win the title.
This is the first board where I've ever seen detailed discussion of whether it's sometimes better if one of your picks doesn't win. It's not just an illusion either - with points going up in every round, if you're among a big majority picking someone to reach R4, where he'd get a match he should win, but you don't have him reaching the QFs and most of the other people do, it's definitely worth wishing your pick to lose in R3.

The Chardy statement wasn't one of my best moments.
Phew, at last I have a good day! I go up by 77 places to 89. Two second round matches remain (both dead rubbers for me) but I hope others picking points from them won't send me below 100.
I still have seven of my quarterfinalists left, which is a good thing since I lost Tipsy on the first day.
I think BT are sure of going into the next round. We have an advantage of 2.47, which can't be done away with only two matches left.
It's been all change amongst the teams today with movement throughout the table. TalkAboutTennis have had the most bumpy ride beginning the day in 3rd place, rising to 1st for a couple of matches, mid-afternoon and finally ending the day a somewhat depressing 7th. CC have managed to end the day at the top, now a full point ahead though that position was looking shaky earlier. Tennis4you and MTF round out the top three in the teams with a meager 0.03 between them. Now at the other end, TN are only 0.2 behind the Djokers and a good day has seen the Feddies move almost 2 points clear of the battle to be bottom.
Team Knockout: It's been an exciting day in the knockout competition as well. JM came very close to overtaking T4y at one point today but end the day over a point behind and need to look to their next matche against the assorted Individuals. BT are continuing to enjoy the KO competition (they won the event at the AO) and are the only team to be beating the higher seed. But the closest match at the end of the day, and with only 2 more rd2 matches to be played is AM the are a mere 0.09 points ahead of 'other boards' and need to watch out as if they lose they'll be playing Nole.com and you all know what Nole's record is like against Andy Murray If Benneteau wins his match tomorrow, that is what will happen so any AM member with team spirit needs to cheer for Falla regardles of their personal picks!!
Individuals
Near the top
We have a new leader at the end of the day in Tush (TN) A first-timer, Tush has impressively managed to make 2 more correct picks than anyone else.
Only 4 of yesterday's top10 have managed to stay up, Borovnia(TY), Richard Morris(ASE)(AM), Ashley Harkleroad's *****(CC) and Steven(GR) though both Borovnia and Steven fell 4 places. (At one point today Borovnia led and Steven was in 2= so an end of day fall isn't great for them )
Billy the Robot is also having fun in the top 10 at 6=. It's still really close at the top and whilst Tush has established a 2 point lead over the rest, the others in the top25 are separated by only 4 points.
Movers
Upwardly:
James (BT) another first timer has risen an impressive 109 places today, with 32 points (that's 16 correct picks). Only two people managed 17 correct picks today, that was Akhenaten (BT) up 38 to 2= and MarisolyRoger (RF) up 185 to 89 (and consequently the faster riser). One other player, Huong (RF) rose more than 100 places, rising 101 to 133=
In a vertical decline:
17 players fell more than 100 places today, far too many to list! The fastest faller was smitty8 (JM) down 145 to 250 in a drop that was predicted I think
Kentanner11 (TN) managed to score a perfect 0 today and thus remains the only players in the gorilla's cage.
Post of the day
This is particularly difficult today and so I've decided to give it to a few different posters.
Firstly an exchange between two boards vying for first places at the time...
(CC board member, moving over to TAT for some old fashioned taunting)"Whoooo-hoooooooo!! I for one think Team CC has opened a can of whup-*** and is kicking all your little candy white asses! " (TAT's response) "Oh my. Did you really join TAT just to trash talk? And say "candy asses!?"
I. AM. Lovin' it! Despite your motives, welcome to TAT! We are a great haven for the insanely competitive, such as yourself.
By the way, how's being 210th overall working out for you? "
Quite an inspired comeback, prompting CC to rethink who they send next time... -------- Secondly, an offering from BT.net ...
"I checked in again on the live scoreboard a few minutes ago , having earlier seen that everything seemed to be going to plan. Suddenly everythings fallen apart !!
What the hell is Nalby doing ? What's Blake up to ? Why is Stan a break down ?

Worse still I've got another "GEM" who has simply got to win against Horna, so that's going to require some TLC to bring in later.
Wish I'd never entered this bloddy ridiculous competition now " it should be said that eblunt who posted this has ended the day in 2nd place, no pleasing some people! ----- Thirdly, once again CC provide some laughs with this post:
"I dont think any of that made good reading for me - so I am going to pretend I didnt read it and not look at my picks or ranking ever again!"
Hope we haven't scared you off for good really
-----
Duff prediction of the day from greenleaf on BT.net...
"Nalby will win, I'm more or less sure. This is Chardy's first ever five setter.
oop.
----
And finally. In the tradition of pickems we have a new nickname. Mr J. Blake is henceforth known as 'Flake'
"only the crumbliest flakiest choker..."
thanks to SuperBrat on CC for that
