RE: Wimbledon Juniors 2008.

Third round:

Marcus Willis [24] vs. Bernard Tomic [2] of Australia
Daniel Evans [49] vs. Dane Propoggia [65] of Australia

Laura Robson [36] vs. Lesley Kerkhove [22] of the Netherlands
Johanna Konta [11] vs. Polona Hercog [12] of Slovenia
Naomi Broady [740] vs. Nikola Hofmanova [17] of Austria

The Cox-Boluda pairing is the weirdest ever!! confused.gif How did that one come about, I wonder. Not that it means anything, but Cox should be a fluent Spanish speaker, I think?

Dan, Laura and Naomi should be looking to win with Marcus in with a good shot. Johanna's going to struggle against Hercog.

Agree. Hercog is possibly the best player in the draw, so Jo needs to step up big time. Hofmanova is nowhere near as good as she once was, so it's a match Naomi should try to win, even though it'll be difficult.

Laura just needs to concentrate after all she did yesterday and she'll be fine! Evo has an easy draw for the last 16 of a Slam, so he should win, but you never know with him in Juniors.

Tomic on grass will be tough, but he can't be in great form if he took three sets to beat Rungkat today. Good luck to Marcus, but he'll have to play his best!

I would be astonished if the BBC show the streams of the outside courts, even in the first hour without commentary.

No doubt we will be 'treated' to the 45th replay of Murray v Gasquet or the marvellous spectacle of over 50's doubles.

Woohoo! I have just realised the junior matches (some anyway, not sure if all) are available on Wimbledon Live.

I didn't buy this last week because the tv coverage is so extensive, but I decided to shell out for it today because I had some spare time and I couldn't wait to watch Andy v Gasquet (most of which I could not see yesterday) until I got the DVD from John.

I've been quite impressed with Wimbledon Live actually - 12 pounds (partly thanks to the weak dollar) for the tournament was a bit of a bargain for someone like me who, in France, can't access the BBC coverage.  I'd have happily paid that for Andy v Gasquet alone.

Wimbledon Live only covers a handful of courts at a time, so there have been relatively few junior matches  - but hopefully nearly every game should be available as we get towards the end of the week.

Watching Willis/Tomic on interactive. Pretty impressed with the Aussie. Have our Young Gus like Morgan and Carpemter ever played him?

Not Morgan, I'm pretty sure. Carpenter shouldn't have faced him, either - Tomic didn't play the normal tourneys in Europe, and I can't recall them playing in Florida. Not sure about this one...

That boy's in a league of his own!

Willis is serving well and holding his nerve under pressure in his games but Tomic looks a very clean hitter of the ball. Amazing play from a 15 year old.
