Jade Curtis was nowhere near as good at 15 as Laura is now......she won a lot of G2 and G3 matches to sneak into top 100 but didn't win matches at junior slams for another year or so......she really has strangely underachieved in the junior events full stop actually.....don't think she's ever been further than rd3 in a slam
she showed a lot more promise in the womens game, most notably at 16 when she made the wc playoff final and in previous years would therefore have earned a main draw wc
To summarise the position we have, apart from Laura, 2 girls and one boys doubles teams left. All the girls are on the same court, and all matches should be viewable on Wimbledon Live and probably BBCi

Laura broken in the 2nd and had the trainer out too icing her leg, don't know what happened though. She came out and broke back after that though, 3-3.

It looks like the winner of this match will play Naomi Broady's conqueror Lertcheewakarn, who will have surprised Greenleaf by going 7-6 4-0 up against Hendler.
A shock in the boy's singles semis too, as top seed Tomic goes out to Kontinen in straights.

Of all tyrannies a tyranny exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive.... those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience
Laura faced a number of attempts by Tabakova to break her concentration, a rest room break, a medical time out and an underarm serve to level at 4-4 in the 2nd but stayed cool to win in style.
Brilliant win for Laura against someone who was trying many different tactics in set 2 to put her off. Good concentration and determination - great prospect.
