RE: Week 23 - Surbiton Trophy [$ 50K] 2008.

boggo is very frustrating, he played 3 yesterday, won 2, but he'd have swapped those 2 for the 1 he lost, he'd swap the dubs title here for that 1 win to be honest.
thing is if he'd lost 5 & 5 to Zevrev(!) then we have not been as dissaponitned but after crushing him its disapotining to lose to levy (even tho levy is what 90 places higher ranked), if it had been on grass maybe it would have been different.

Today's results mostly as expected, although I am happy to see Mannarino go through as I think he is a player with a lot of potential [saw him at a GB Futures in January and his ranking improvement since then has been rather fast paced] and one that could get into the Top100 in the next couple of years.

Could it be that Boggo simply has a blind spot when he plays players from Israel. (I'm thinking Okun, Levy ...)

maybe....they both have a similar kind of game, just very consistent, physically strong, nothing huge but good all-round games and Boggo finds himself getting outrallied

Dancevic won the evnt in the end beating Anderson 46 63 76(4) in the final.

No real consolation for Slabba but he did lose to the eventual champion....

So this is end for the brilliant event? cry.gif

It'll be a shame if the high quality courts are used for absolutely no international tennis. One option for the LTA is to move back the Junior tourney from Roehampton to Surbiton like it once was, I think. But I'll like it most if we have a Challenger here outside the grass season (but on grass, obviously) - preferably during the early parts of the clay season. Of course it won't happen...
