Nice fight by Josh. cry.gif

Anderson should be a real beast when they actually start playing on grass!

That's impressively quick again - I see the LTA site has had a bit of a grass court makeover, which to be fair to them may have been a legitimate reason why the service was quite so bad last weekend.

Did he hurt it while playing and aggravate it later or did he hurt it in practice? If it's the former, it's terrible for him, I must say. You do something not normal for a top 20 player and take a WC in a Challenger and injure yourself doing that! cry.gif

As a fan, the tournament was a disaster for me, as all the players I would have gone for got beaten early. I was looking forward to Nishikori, Zverev, Kuznetsov, especially Nishikori. Nishikori pulled out after 5 games from a stomach ache from what I heard; "stomach" is all I heard when he pulled out. Mischa beaten by Boggo. Also nice Baghdatis was in, but now he is out.

Didn't go today, but hoping all is situated at Surbiton tomorrow and planning to go. Hopefully OOP is out soon.

I take back what I said about Baggy then, it sounds really unfortunate for the poor guy.

Btw if it hasn't been mentioned by anyone else yet and people interested in the non-Brits are still looking at this thread, it says on the LTA site that, weather permitting, the men will move back to the grass in Surbiton tomorrow too - http://www.lta.org.uk/News/All-news-items/Keothavong-reaches-quarter-final-in-Surbiton/

Terrible day for the Brits as after the great exploits of yesterday it all went wrong for them today and back to some disappointing losses.

Didn't expect Slabba and Goodall to win, but Slabba's loss is a disappointment as he got thrashed it seems. With his serve I wouldn't expect him to lose 2 and 1 to anyone, but either it didn't happen for him today or Dancevic was just too good... but indicates that Slabba has got a long way to go to get into the top 200.

Goodall put up a good effort against Anderson but was always likely to be edged out. Shame for Goodall this wasn't on the grass as I think he could have beaten him on that, as Anderson struggled against the low slice against Bamford, so if the ball keeps low on the grass he may not find it easy.

And as for Boggo? I don't understand the loss at all, especially after yesterday's win where he looked so good and so like he was moving up again. Levy had nothing in his game that looked as if he was going to really cause Boggo any problems and doesn't have any great weapons, so for Boggo to lose to him really surprises me - guess it's another case of him having no consistency, but he would have had a great chance to reach the final if he won this match.

EDIT: Baghdatis didn't look injured yesterday so must have done it in practice

Er, quarters, actually, Count! wink  Levy & Thomas must've beaten the qualifiers who took out Slabba & Eaton, the Russian marble man, Michail Elgin, & Mikhail Kukushkin ( smile )!

to complete the doubles picture

Ken and Richard beat Guccione/Van Der Merwe 6-2 2-6 10-6
but beaten by Levy/Thomas 6-7(4) 6-4 11-9 otherwise they would have met Boggo and Ward in SEMIS.

Aucks and Delgado were beaten in rd 1 by Feeney/Smeets 6-3 7-6(3)

I take back my previous post!  If that's the case, Slabba & Eaton must've been drafted in as lucky losers in place of Baggy & Bohli!  So what happened to Bops & Qureshi?   Did they lose to Bamfs & Goody? confuse.gif
