Had bounded my way to this forum this afternoon to see by what margin Boggo had won, a nice tonic after an exam. So disappointed by that result in particular, Josh seems to have put up a good fight and considering the difference in rankings I am not overly taken aback by that scoreline. I have no idea why I am surprised by the Boggo result as this series of events has been seen many times before but I think we all had a good feeling about this week for the Boggman. Oh well, onwards and upwards.. hopefully he'll recapture the form his showed against Zverev and take it into Queens.
Obviously not impressed with Roehapton but on the bright side it should mean Boggo and Ward get thro to doubles Q-F although there was qualifying so maybe LL Muller/Nielsen will play?
The thing that annoys me the most about boggo's loss is the 7-5 bit of it. i mean, obviously we can't read too much into scores because we didn't see the match but if you lose a set 7-5 it is an indication that you choked when you were under pressure and to do it twice in a match is just a bit annoying and it's pretty typical boggo. I'm still a massive fan of alex but i'm just a bit disillusioned because i thought that if anyone could make alex close out sets and not lose confidence it would be Brad.
One thing I don't get - why do none of the results pages show Boggo's loss when he was due up 2nd on Court 4 after a match that turned out to be a w/o? i.e. he must have finished earlier than some of the other matches that there are scores for.
I too am shocked that Baggy couldn't be bothered to play after being given a precious w/c too - how arrogant is that?!

Far be it from me not to jump oncontroversy and fuel the fire but it is as possible that Baggy is a little injured or his withdrawal is precautionary as itnis that he decided this wasn't the grass prep he wanted. Given, we're in Britain where you're innocent until proven guilty.....
Disappointed by Boggo.
Disappointed for Josh.
Gutted for Slabba about the courts as I think he would have tested Dancevic on grass..

I too am shocked that LTA and Surbiton wasn't be able to organize a normal tournament, and let the women's play on the grasscourts, while men played on hardcourt. Marcos will play in Halle next week, so it was a surprise for me why he come here, I think it wil be the best if he relax, and practice in Halle, and don't wait for his matches, and play 3 (!!!) matches on the same day. Only one man can be nervous, Bohli, who was Marcos' partner in doubles.

Clearly he could be injured, in which case fair enough, but if it's just the change of surface that made him w/d, I don't think that's acceptable when you've taken a w/c, especially when the tournament is likely to be back on grass tomorrow anyway, I assume. But yes, we shouldn't get too annoyed without knowing the facts.
