It's too straightforward, something's got to go wrong ... LOL

Meanwhile, Starace is a break up against Rafa ...

Really enjoyed watching that - great tennis from Andy, no outbursts - well, just a tiny one - no nailbiting and decent serving. He looks so much more comfortable on the clay this week. Well done Andy and good luck on your 21st birthday in the next round.

I just got in to see Andy take the first set, so watched all of the second. Much better from Andy - and boy, they often say his body language is bad, but what about Gilles Simon? He looked and sounded really petulant! Is he always like that?

So - well done Andy, and good luck against - very probably - Rafa in the next round.

Oooh, I forgot that. Wouldn't beating Rafa be a nice birthday present?

I don't really expect it if Rafa is at the top of his form, but his feet may just be bothering him. . .

goldfish, you said "decent serving" - 45% 1st serves is not good enough - but he does have the ability to win despite that

From the bits I saw he was much more aggressive than normal.

He was quoted recently as saying that he reckons his game is "fun to watch" maybe he was out to justify that.

I liked the terrific drop shot to take the break in the 2nd set and also the drop shot/lob combination - you have to say few other players would have tried it (perhaps with good reason!).

Oops, sorry. Didn't check the stats but it just looked as if Andy was getting more serves in. I thought his second service was better too (positioning not necessarily percentage) - is it or I am just imagining this as well?

Best match Murray's played on the clay this year and he actually looked as if he knew what he was doing on the surface which is a lot better than in the past

Simon is a good clay courter and to brush him over with ease will be a good confidence boost for him, especially given the fact he played relatively well today

Nadal up next will probably be too much for him, but if an average player like Starace can push Nadal this much then it gives you hope that Murray can do something (although I'm hoping for anything other than the shamefully bad performance against Djokovic in MC)
