RE: Boys & Girls - 49th Trofeo Bonfiglio - Grade A - 2008.

So another rubbish tournament for the three Dans - they could easily reach the quarters or better if they had gone to Greece.

How long will this farce continue, by the way? Surely by now everyone knows that this is not working!

Third round matches:

These days it seems like Laura has both form and good luck far exceeding the usual allowance. Instead of getting Timea Babos, she gets to play Nicole Bartnik, who beat Babos's conqueror, Valeria Savinykh, in the second round. The American Bartnik, who is ranked 106, is possibly a friend and a part time doubles partner of Tara Moore. She's extremely ordinary on clay (at least so far) so there's no reason as to why Laura can't beat her.

Niall Angus is not so lucky since he gets one of the worst draws possible - the unranked floater Guido Pella. Pella wasn't bothered with Juniors but has an impressive ATP ranking of 606 (which is slightly inflated with cheap points, though). It seems like the young Argentinian is in Europe with the mission of winning Roland Garros.

Good luck to both.

Rain will be good, actually. That way she could get the SE into next week. smile.gif Of course, I'd prefer it if she won the thing and got it!

Laura :)

She'll be up to 64ish now, might be higher with doubles.

Angus lost by 2 and 3. cry.gif

Laura gets her first properly tough match of the the tournament in the form of Bojana Jovanoski, who was born in December 1991 and is ranked 8. Her highlights of the year so far have been reaching the quarters of the Australian Open and losing the final of the Grade A, Copa Gerdau. This'll be extremely difficult and it's not very likely that Laura can win this, but you never know!

Unfortunately Laura Robson has lost her QF to the remaining favourite, but appears to have put up a good fight against the world number 5.

Bojana Jovanovski SRB (5) (seed 3) beat Laura Robson 7-6(4) 6-4

Thanks, Emma.

That's a decent result for Robson. She'll be winning these by next year!

And play Cunha and Cesar Ramirez for a place in the finals.

Laura and Hogenkamp are doing extremely well in doubles! They won their second round match by 0 and 0 (omg.gif) and then thrashed the second seeds by 2 and 1.

I think you can get SEs with doubles, too. But I am not sure if you can unless you entered a tournament from before.

Sorry, the boys actually play Draganja and Marin Milan (both Croats).

Keep going in the doubles Laura. She up to around 62ish now a win in the dubs would put her 58ish.
