Smethurst looks like he'll win now, up 5-0 final set.
If Evans can join him in round 2, it's been a pretty good day overall.

Daniel Smethurst [75] vs. Cesar Ramirez [4] of Mexico Marcus Willis [18] vs. Grigor Dimitrov [15] of Bulgaria Jade Curtis [30] vs. Melanie Oudin [2] of the USA
Almost no chance for Smethurst as he is not very good on red clay, compared to Ramirez who reached the quarters here last year and has a G1 on this surface.
Dimitrov may be the favourite for this match, but Willis can very much take it. This boy won a Futures on clay a few days back, by the way!
I must point out that Dimitrov has not mastered Juniors but plays men's tournaments full time and is doing far better than our players this way. But of course, only we follow the proper path to the top 100, so Dimitrov must be rubbish.
Oudin is one hell of a player in the making! She turned 16 last September but is already ranked 257 in the WTA, with a win at Tour level (vs. Maret Ani). Jade will be lucky to win 7 games if Oudin's half as good on clay as she's on hard.
