Murray serving for the match for a second time at 7-6 5-4
15-0: Unreturnable serve 15-15: Lopez takes control of the point brilliantly with a lob and works murray wide and then finishes off with a smash 30-15: Feli has murray on the back foot but sends his backhand tamely into the net 40-15: Murray doesnt have to do much as feli sends the ball into the net 40-30: Lopez hits huge ripper down the line, murray in no mans land GAME: murray works Lopez well and the spaniard nets
From what i saw, Andy didn't have to do much to win that, Lopez just made all the mistakes. Andy will have to step it up a few gears if/when he faces Djokovic.
I have never seen so many drop-shots, from BOTH players, in one set in my life!
Solid first win for Andy after his long(ish) lay-off, by the sound of it, but that comment's worrying! Here's hoping Corretja will do something to rectify it...
Interesting development in his quarter of the draw, too. The 10th seed, Carlos Moyá, has just been beaten 3-6 6-1 3-6 by Sam Querrey!
At least he won the match which is better than he was doing last year on the clay, although Lopez shouldn't have been too much of a stretch for him.
Volandri next will be a test as Volandri is a proven clay courter so knows his away around the red stuff. It's a match that will show us how improved Murray is on the clay and whether he is going to be picking up wins on it.
Win, and he's shown he can beat the mid-high level clay courters in the top 50 Lose, and he's still got a way to go before he's going to do any damage on the clay
