RE: AMS Indian Wells R4: Murray v Haas

According to the BBC sports site http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/7305923.stm Andy said afterwards that he knows he should have played more aggressively in the third set.

In the second set, Andy, in the second set!  You should be finishing these matches in 2 if you can!

At least he seems to acknowledge the problem, now will he do something about it?

Neil Harman's assessment.  I get the distinct impression he was the architect of his own downfall.  He certainly has a lot to put right before he can begin to claim equal status with NoDjo... cry

Something I have not seen written anywhere else, and which I frankly find worrying. I think even the first set score flatters Andy a bit.

Did anybody else notice that throughout the first set Haas was picking at his shorts even more than Nadal does? He did it so much I began to wonder if he had put his underpants on back to front. He lost the set, went off for a bathroom break, came back and started playing really well - and without one more pick at the knickers. . .

An interesting read there, Stircrazy. Am I the only one who is getting a little tired of Andy always knowing what he is doing wrong but never appearing to solve the problem? He's still playing the 'young' card which quite frankly is getting tedious. Is he strong enough both mentally and physically for a tournament with 96 in the draw, let alone a GS with 128? For me, he doesn't seem to have progressed and, unfortunately, for him others have, or are doing. I want him to succeed but at the moment I'm disenchanted by the whole scenario. cry
