RE: ATP Dubai R1 - Murray v Federer

Andy serving at 67 63 43

2nd serve: 15-0, Fed rushes to the net, gets the volley and sends it very wide!
2nd serve: 15-15, Andy's turn for a ue wide, this time a bh.
30-15, followed up by an unreturnable
4-15, another huge, fast forehand from Andy and Fed can only net it
2nd serve: game

Fed serving to stay in the match at 76 36 35

0-15, what can only be described as a shocker from Fed, he had the open court to aim at and still went really very wide
15-15, made up for it there by voley winner on the back line behind Andy though :(
30-15, fh dtl winner for Fed, nothing Andy could do
40-15, telegraphed the drop shot, Andy got there, but was too far off court to defend the volley winner.
game. ace.

so Andy'll have to serve it out please.gif:plesae:please.gif

From the set and a bit I watched, seemed such a mature performance from Andy.

Wow, what a great match by Andy. So cool and contained. Just brilliant. Well done and can't wait for the next match. Such different play from Rotterdam, thank goodness.

When was the last time Andy played a match and didn't drop serve? Not even a break point! clap.gifclap.gif

That was FANTASTIC!

I couldn't post because I was trying to record the livestream - I don't know if it worked because I have to dash off now and make the meal/go out.

I'll read through the thread later!

It will take some time to wipe the smile off my face. . .

Well done, that man! smile  w00t.gif  From the Beeb's text commentary:

Well, well, well. Brilliant stuff from Murray, who kept his composure after losing the first-set tiebreak from 5-2 up. Federer looked short of match practice - but it still takes a special player to hold his nerve against the world number one. Murray now has a 2-1 head-to-head record against Federer. The Briton did not face a break point in the entire match. Astonishing.
