Congrats Murray! Two titles and it's only Feb. Here's hoping the next one is a slam!

(Edit: Actually, a couple more ATPs before the slam would be nice :) )

Excellent match to watch. When it works that serve is brilliant and even without it, his play and resistance make up for it. With a 51% first serve he still won 33/40 points, compared with Ancic's 66% and 24/39.

No, I don't mind him winning Rotterdam and Dubai etc on his way to the slams!

Just to explain my posting problems - get back from husband's birthday lunch just as Andy broke at 5-3 in the first set. Bet365 livestream was frozen as often as it was running. Managed to get the Open13blog one running; the picture isn't as sharp, it is even smaller than Bet365: it will change onto full screen, but then it is even fuzzier. There is no commentary, and no score shown on the screen, so you have to rely on catching the umpire calling the score in French above the crowd noise. To get back to this site you have to take it off full screen, switch tabs, refresh, etc. etc. etc. With my arthritic fingers making for slow typing, by the time I have done all that I am missing the start of the next game!

Plus in the sit-downs I had to fit in taking off coat and shoes, a bathroom break, and getting a drink. . .

Andy won the Hawkeye challenge competition as well, didn't he!

Edit - see what I mean? By the time I had typed this, half-a-dozen others had picked up on the "next one is a slam" comment!

Thanks for the running commentary Wolf (and possibly others) - I'm going to go back and read them now.

Very impressive performance - seemed to play more positively than normal - asking questions of Ancic - though the drop shots were pretty hopeless.

I couldnt help thinking that most of the time Andy had another gear if it was required.

A good win for Andy with Ancic a bit of a unknown quantity after his health problems. Will Big Bruv make it a Murray twosome this weekend? confused

Good one Andy. Your forgiven for not playing Davis cup last week.

Can anybody who actually saw all this match do a report for bt.net? It's a bit ridiculous having nothing about it on there.

I didn't see it all, and am useless at reports anyway. But if nobody comes up with anything before about 11pm, I'll hash something up from various other reports laughing.gif
