Are we not allowed to say that Andy was the 'best' British player last year then?
I mean, I take your point and 'least successful' is certainly more respectful (which is good) but, to be consistent, if we can use the word 'best', we can use the word 'worst'.
I don't think so - as Bob pointed out there are a lot more candidates for worst than there are for best - Andy was indisputably the best and he had no real competition, professional or otherwise. Worst, on the other hand goes all the way down! I could maybe meet you halfway with "worst professional".
