Not sure if this has already been posted but Natalie Beazant won her second G5 in a row in Dominican Republic, after winning in Honduras last week without dropping a set. She also won the doubles title in the Dominican Republic.

No, Alasdair, it hadn't been posted - thank you very much for taking the trouble to let me/us know. I've now updated the official list. Can I suggest that, if you are aware of a British player playing in a tournament for which no thread exists, you start one yourself, if you have time? Three titles in two weeks - WOW - well done, Natalie!
Heather Watson wins the Yucatan World Cup, a G1 event, in Mexico. Unless you include Johanna Konta, I think this is the first time a British girl has won a G1 since Jane O'Donoghue won the Japan Open back in 2000.
DJ is unable to get online as much as he used to and has asked me to complete the "British Successes" threads for 2008 (N.B. this note is repeated on the other successes threads, so if you've read a note that starts like this on one of the other threads, so can safely ignore this one!) so I have now done that.
I've also done what I promised DJ months ago, i.e. created a proper 'roll of honour' page on the site for each of these threads - you can find links to them in the "BRITISH SUCCESSES" section of the revamped stats page at http://www.britishtennis.net/stats.html - do feel free, as ever, to point out any errors or make suggestions. Btw some errors on the original lists thread have already been corrected on the webpage version but not in this thread.
Putting these lists onto web pages ensures consistent formatting (virtually impossible on Activeboard unless you know exactly how the original poster has done the formatting) and that tables for prior years will be easier to find than prior years' threads will be once they are un-stickied.
Now that the pages have been set up for 2008, it should be easy enough to do the same for 2009, as long as the section specialists don't mind helping out by pointing out the things I don't automatically pick up while doing the GB top 25 tables, e.g. tournament wins for doubles and juniors and new career highs for doubles and for singles outside the top 1000.
So, once 2009 starts, I intend to de-sticky the 2008 successes threads, and start a new 2009 one in each section with just a link to the stats pages in the top post, with people posting updates in the rest of the thread that I'll then transfer to the web pages every week or two. Or I can send a copy of the spreadsheet that creates the web pages to a specialist if they'd prefer to update it themselves.

James Marsalek won a G4 singles title in the States last week. Both DavidC and the LTA reported that Steph Cornish won the doubles title at the same event, but on ITF it says she was runner-up.

Btw DJ was using courier new font size 2.
Thanks, that worked - though when you edit the post, the font on the bit I added now looks completely different even though the final version now looks the same as the rest - I wonder if I'll ever understand how activeboard works ...
I've added Marsalek's Week 51 win to the table - thanks for that too. All the official sources I can find say Steph lost the doubles Final, so I thnk we'll have to assume she did.

Looking through I have noticed a couple of minor errors on the week 26 entry the P in David Thomson's name needs to be taken out, and Jade Curtis' doubles success at Roehampton was week 26 not week 27.
Also I have noticed if you click on a players profile page, it shows the rankings they will when the 1990 players drop off next year. Alastair Barnes is up to 74 and James Chaudry is on 100, so well done to them for cracking the top 100 barrier. Also Ahmed El Menshawy is up to 124, David Thomson to 132 , James Marsalek to 149 and Jordan McCulloch to 183. On the girls side Laura Robson will start the year at 4, Heather Watson at 20, Hannah James at 76 and Stephanie Cornish at 83.
Also I see James Marsalek will be our only male junior with a senior ranking at the start of 2009 - a fairly sorry state of affairs. It's brighter on the womens side though with Laura Robson, Jocelyn Rae, Tara Moore, Samantha Vickers, Jennifer Ren and Stephanie Cornish all having a senior ranking and being eligable for junior tournaments in 2009
P in Thomson - that's one of the things I corrected on the new webpage but not on here. I'll change the week number on the webpage, there were one or two others that looked a it suspect too but I didn't have time to check.
Well spotted re the new junior rankings - interesting.
