She gives as many interviews in a month as Tim Henman's parents gave in the last 10 years. I know which I prefer.
Substitute week for month and you will be closer to the mark. I suppose she thinks that as a semi prominant tennis person in her own right she has some serious contribution to make but she does sometimes give the impression of being one of those awful people who promote themselves on the backs of their kids achievements.
Yeah, I remember Andy's debut at Queens. Wasn't she decked out in "The Sun" baseball cap and gear? Was quite cringeworthy and took a little while to come round to Andy for me after that

Unless Tim's mum has spent as much time in sports admin/coaching the comparison and RJA's negativity seem as naff as complaining that Andy doesnt have the ideal personality/image to promote Persil (as Tim did).
I've never met Judy - but I've heard a lot of good things about her from other tennis folk.

Agreed. Did RJA feel the need to post twice to make his/her point? Then again, it's the Brit thing to do: build 'em up to knock 'em down. Without her we'd be in a pretty poor way at the moment; she's quite rightly proud of her boys.

1. I wasn't rubbishing her, in fact I alluded to the fact that she has background in Tennis which make her opinions more valid than that of most parents. I was just commenting on the impression that she sometimes gives (that of playing of her sons success).
2. I didn't post it twice intentionally. I left my browser tab on this page for some time and when I refreshed the page my post appeared for a second time. I don't know why, I'm not a tech geek.
RJA, maybe I didnt realise the amount of respect implied by your response to Ratty - it all depends on the tone of voice used. You were suggesting she seemed "awful" and if you say the following archly it sounds quite bad.
"I suppose she thinks that as a semi prominant (sic) tennis person"
There is much worse than that in other threads in other places of course.
I am genuinely curious about why she gets so much flak - seems to me it is undeserved. Most of the time I feel she's reasonably forthcoming and not quite as bland/dishonest/annoying as the average pundit.
Thankfully it was Greg talking nonsense about Andy being no 3 in the world right now and talking of a slam as if it is to be expected. For what its worth (nothing) I'd estimate that if he remains injury free he might beat the points collecting endeavours of Davydenko and be around 4/5 in the rankings at the end of 08.
