The main draw is out with only Jade Curtis in action.

Jade is the 4th seed, and plays Aussie Tammi Patterson, ranked 292nd.

If she wins, she faces the winner of Janaki Gunuganti (IND) #172, and Sabrina Xu, an Australian qualifier ranked 1119. Don't know anything about the local girls, but looks like an excellent chance to go far, and to fulfil her potential in a Junior event.

Another good day for Jade. She beat Sabrina Xu 6-2, 6-0. Now she starts to face some tougher competition in Stefanie Voegele, the 14th seed. Jade and her partner Isabella Holland won their first round of doubles 6-1, 6-3.

I think Jade's run will probably end here, will take a special performance to get past Voegele who's ranked 193 wta and made 4 challengers finals last year (including one at 50K level)....she'd be top 10 easily if she just played juniors

Lucky break for Jade...Voegle had to pull out beforehand

Plays 12th seed Elena Bogdan in the quarters. Should be easier, 15 yr old Bogdan is down in the 700s wta

thru to the quarter finals of the doubles too!

She'll gain 10 points from singles so far this week as her back up scores are pretty similar to how she's doing.

Needs another win in the doubles to get any points from that.

Jade is ranked 32 now.

Woohoo! Get the title and try becoming the world number 1 in the next few months.


It's sad seeing her play such things but unfortunately the alternative is sitting at home and playing scrabble. cry.gif
