Come on, Andy, too late for a bagel but you could still give him a breadstick!

Davy serving at 46 14

0-15, no idea what happened cos my live stream is giving me sound but no picture...just a still of Davydenko. *shudders* wink.gif

15-15, no idea again, but the picture seems to have returned.

30-15. Well Davy should have won that point in three different places before Andy was finally beaten.

grr, picture's gone again. but the crowd seemed to like that point, and this time the still is of Andy smile.gif

40-15

2nd serve, 40-30, Davy overcooks the cross court bh and goes wide.

wawrinka is watching, checking out he competition for tomorrow!

game. Davy smashes a lob from Andy and yells in happiness.

42 sorry Mad, no breadstick cry.gif

15-0, return goes wide, Andy gets the same ball back.

15-15, Andy gets to the bh dtl and sends it cross court but Davy is there at the net and drop shot volley thingy to win the point. (yes thats the technical term wink.gif)

30-15, return goes long. Yet another great serve from Andy.

2nd serve, 40-15, Davy nets, and walks back grumpily to the baseine.

2nd serve, game. great second serve, Davy's return goes long. Double fist pump that time!

5-2*

Strange, my livestream was ok in that game, but the problem you describe is what I was having earlier.

Davy's having some success when he gets in to the net, but thankfully, Andy's serve has improved and he's trying to keep him on the baseline. smile

Davy serving at 46 25

0-15, goes for too mcuh, tryin to get the winner dtl early in the rally and goes wide.

2nd serve, 0-30, Davy goes wide again. He's trying to shorten the points...and suceeding, just failing to win them.

2nd serve, 15-30, Andy's lob falls about a foot long.

15-40. That has to be the shot of the match. Andy hits a perfect approach shot, right on the corner, then hits a difficult moving volley thing into the opposite corner to earn 2 match points.

30-40, Davy dropshot takes the point after a great rally from both players.

2nd serve, deuce body serve surprises Andy and he hits the return wide.

2nd serve, ad Andy, Davy's bh dtl off the return goes wide.

deuce2. Andy jumps for the serve down the line...and it's goes wide, he nets the return.

2nd serve, ad Davy, fh dtl winner.

2nd serve, game. Andy's return is long.

Seems to be no hard feelings between them - very cordial towards each other at the net.

Excellent stuff from Andy. His court coverage in particular is superb, even better than it used to be I think. smile.gif

Like you, Mad, I noticed that they seemed to be pretty friendly at the net ... or at least, Andy was, and from the look opn Kolya's face, there were no hard feelings. I imagine the players must know that other players' comments (not to mention their own reactions) are often blown out of all proportion by the media.

I guess Andy must be playing for a place back in the top 10 tomorrow ... and he should now be assured of avoiding the top 4 seeds at the AO until the QFs.
