I'm very surprised about him playing Dubai....thought he'd take two weeks off before the two big masters series....Dubai usually attracts a top quality field - Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Davydenko and Haas all there last year so it's going to be a month of intense high quality tennis
I'm kind of expecting him to withdraw from Marseille though after his exertions in South America especially if the tie goes into the final day
The Times also reported that he will play Marseille, Rotterdam and Dubai. I think after his exploits in the DC, he will be jet-lagged, but now hes more fitter and he proved it before in Thailand that he can make an impact straight away.
I think hes avoiding the North American tournies, for a couple of reasons, he probably does not want to be 'typecasted' as the player who loves playing in America, want more competitive tennis under his belt against the main players on the tour and secure more ranking points than the NA tournies offers.
But to be honest its important he does that because if he wants to compete with the top 4, then he needs to show he has the stamina and physical ability to compete back to back tournies in different continents.
I wonder if Andy will ask for a WC to Vina Del Mar?
Maybe he should. "Legs" clearly thinks he's going to be ever so slightly short of match practice, come the DC:
The next factor is where he goes in terms of preparing with us for the Davis Cup tie in Argentina. I expected him to get another three matches under his belt and then come out to join us in Buenos Aires just before that starts on 8 February, but now there's a big gap.
I am going to let things settle down for a few days and then chat to him about what the best thing is to do. I'll certainly put my two cents in and try to get him to come up to Chile beforehand for some practice with the rest of the team.

I found this extract from the above mentioned article somewhat at odds with an article in yesterday's ST. Another factor was in his serve: Andy's second serve was vulnerable and by contrast Tsonga served extremely well to him, going wide, forcing errors and getting a lot of cheap points.
April? Well, Miami ends on the 6th. After that I would guess training on clay for the Monte Carlo Masters, starting the 21st. But who knows? There isn't even an official schedule on his own website!
I would expect the Rome and Hamburg Masters in May, before RG.
Tim, do you need specs? How on earth do you get the font that size?
I've updated the first post with Andy's confirmed schedule until Wimbledon, as seen on am.com. The only other ones they say are confirmed are the Masters and USO, but I (or Tim) will put them in later when we know more about any extra optionals.
