I think that she's ranked so low purely due to a lack of international exposure (the usual for many Brits). She was brilliant once upon a time and hopefully she'll make a comeback. There's no doubting the talent, and she has a lot of time in her hands.
I think she was the lowest ranked of the brits at the Maureen Whatsername tournament. She was the one who sparked the oh-so-near comeback with GBR's first win. Ken interviewed her iirc and there was a rather amusing "When is this going to be broadcast?", "It was live, honey." dialogue at the end.
That was actually Hannah James, she was the first win in the Maureen connolly tournament and was told by coaches this is a must win match. It was also her who was interviewed. Steph has had as much international play as the others but did not defend her points this last few months probably due to exam commitments-she is a good player and made quater finals of this years nationals losing to Hannah James.

Quite right! I remember now. When you get to my age your memory gets a bit unreliable :)
