Table of Points for Challengers and Futures

This is a copy of a conversation between The Addict and Peter Too re W40 points

Has anyone found a recent copy of the ranking points table that includes points for these W40 events?

They are included in the latest release of the ITF rulebook
Go to Appendix K on page 154

The points are:- 70,42,25,13,7,1 with 4 for qualifying and 2 for FQR

Edited bt TA to include the link

They seem to have actually aligned event titles to points allocation at last , and have a consistent ratio from round to round at each level!

Good job!?

 Thanks, the addict !

I love the fact the name of the events now reflects the points, and not the $ amount (same as they've done with juniors, although $ amount wasn't a factor there)

Far more useful, IMO

Agreed, and it what the ATP do, the 2000/1000/500/250 levels reflect the points. I think it is the same at ATP Challenger level but would need to check - if not, it should be  eta. yes it does.

Interestingly though, the ratios differ slightly - ATP offer the RU 60% of the winners points and so on down; the WTA will be offering 65% of the winners points to the RU. I presume it goes down at 65% ratio through the draw but havent done the maths.

So, a 1000 event RU gets 650 womens, 600 mens.

I presume if the ATP and WTA merge, they will equalise the points, not sure which way and dont really have a strong view, as it doesnt actually differ much; just irritating that it does, it would be nice to have consistency, not least as I would remember it all much better!!

this is interesting, thanks Shhh. The men have changed their points so they equal the WTA structure now - eg they are using a 65 percent ratio as opposed to 60 percent so a slam finalisr gets 1300 and not 1200 as before. So hopefully we will see mens and womens at each level effectively equal now?

Having had time to have a decent look at the new structure, it does appear a so much more logical points to prize money progression than before for the ITF events, with the old W25 ( title points 50, prize money $25K ) having been a particular anomaly for far too long and not addressed last year when the W40s were just shoved into what points space remained. I believe an enlightened forum member suggested years ago that the old W25 ( $25K prize money ) should have around 35 title points rather than 50 with 50 title points for a higher prize money event

Now ( taking the prize money from the ITF calendar ) we have:

W15 - title points 15, prize money $15K

W35 - title points 35, prize money $25K

W50 - title points 50, prize money $40K

W85 - title points 75, prize money $60K

W100 - title points 100, prize money $100K

Does anyone know if gong forward., the W15s and W35s will have their points added a week 'late' (as with the previous W15s and W25s )? I am guessing so.

And hallelujah for finally having the WTA tour event title points also reflect the names of the events ( the previous renaming in line with the ATP events but not making the relatively minor title points changes was just very silly ).

Yes, W15 and W35 points continue to have a 1 week lag in being added.

If anyone uses live-tennis.eu for live ranking the new changes to atp challenger points dont appear to have been updated yet.

Ignore this. I was looking at doubles. And confusingly ive just noticed the point increases for ATP events and decreases for Challengers is for Single events only. Very annoying that the two are not in sync.
