Here! (well, partly).

Solid win. Perhaps not vintage Andy, but quite good enough for Cuevas..

Sorry I left you alone Mads, it was a really decent performance from Andy, unleashed on the forehand quite a few times, some real scorchers off that wing in fact.

After the match, he sat with head in hands for a little while, seemed quite overwhelmed and emotional. He's definitely back, should have a nice run now imo.

An area he could improve upon was his volleying, there were a couple of magic touches but quite a few basic misses too, but I'm sure that will come in time. All in all, I'm very happy with that match today. I'm most happy with the speed he showed around the court. His court coverage is most definitely back to it's best.

It's Bjorkman next. He just won in straights. Tough match and Andy will have to play as well as today if not a little better but I think he'll win through that one.

We've had guests over all evening so I had to keep sneakily disappearing to check the scoreboard (luckily one of the guests wanted to know as well so I was just being a good hostess wink.gif).

So so glad to see Andy back to the winning ways and able to trust himself on the forehand. Bjorkman shouldn't be too hard a draw, obviously tougher than Cuevas but hopefully just another step on the road back to the top of his game.

Really pleased with that match. It's pretty much all he could have hoped for - a guy who wasn't really a threat but who was still good enough to give him a decent work out on court and he whacked a few forehands (one or two even landed in court ;)) and he moved well, and returned well and the backhand looked great. It was the type of match he needed and his reaction at the end seemed to show that.

It's great to see him back looking like himself again. Still room for improvement, but he looks like a different player from the last few weeks. Really good presser from him as well - talking about how he wasn't really enjoying his tennis earlier in the year because he was trying to be too perfect.
