Just in case you were suffering withdrawal symptons after the ages since the last pick 'em, the new one is here and ready to solve all your problems! You can find the entry sheet at http://www.britishtennis.net/Competitions.html
At the moment the draw doesn't have qualifiers in it (because they haven't finished qualifying yet) but feel free to enter anyways, you know the drill by now. Any queries either drop a post here or email us at btpickem@hotmail.com
Robots for this tournament will be:
Roberta: who always picks the higher ranked player based on the entry rankings. Racy: who picks the higher ranked player based on the ATP race positions King Kong: the average score of a million hairy gorillas picking randomly. Billy: the bookies' bot. Picks round 1 matches based on the odds, where available, otherwise odds for winning the tournament, if equal then entry rankings. Homer: the US equivalent of BritBot, picks American players to win (higher ranked if both players are American) Ceres: the US equivalent of Womble, picks based on rankings in the USOpen Series, where applicable, rankings if equal or both players aren't listed.
Entry deadline is 1300 GMT (2pm BritishSummerTime) Monday 27th August
Good luck one and all and get picking! " title="" /> It would be great if we could have even more entrants than usual on this, the one year anniversary of the Britishtennis.net pick 'em contest (Steven is the defending champiom).

To look at a thing is quite different from seeing a thing and one does not see anything until one sees its beauty
For the one and only time (unless you select one of the yes options from the dropdown at the bottom of the entry form), those of you who played in the Wimby or Cincy pick 'ems should get an email from me alerting you to the fact that the US Open pick 'em is now open for entries.
Only three non-AM/BT/GR entrants entered Cincy (the fact that it was originally meant to be Montréal a week earlier probably didn't help!), so hopefully this email will help us to get a fair number of the Wimby entrants back for the USO and talking about it to attact others on their own boards. If you post on other boards too, feel free to try a bit of recruitment so we can make this the best pick 'em yet.
We also have another plan (or two) to get some new entrants, but whether anything comes of it remains to be seen.

This contest is now one of the top links on the www.stevegtennis.com site after I wrote to him today (go there and look at the top of the page), as well as BT pickems in general appearing on his contests page.
Hopefully that'll get seen by a few knowledgeable tennis fans!

Ken Thomas just plugged the comp for us on RadioTennis.com - he mentioned britishtennis.net enough times for people to get it down right, described the competition as well as he could, not having had time to look at the entry form yet (he asked people to email in and tell him what it's like!), then came the classic Ken:
"Feel free to join the radiotennis.com team, but if you do, get it right"
then a bit later ...
"If you're nat gonna be right, don't join my team"
then a bit later ...
"I'll try to enter over the weekend if I have time. I'm sure if I have time to enter I'll win it ... I WILL win it, there's no doubt"
He also mentioned that his friends at andymurray.com won the last one (the Wimby one was the one I mentioned)
It was mentioned during Falla v Peya so I might have been the only person listening but it was really cool of him to do it - so cool that I might have to let him off for calling me "Steve"

If you have been waiting for qualifiers to be placed in the draw before entering, you will be pleased to know that you can now see them on the updated entry form at updated entry form.
The new players in the draw include one lucky loser because Monfils has pulled out, so anyone who entered already and picked him to go more than a round or two might want to pick again if they have time - if not, they will be treated as having picked Dominik Meffert to win any matches that they picked Monfils to win, since he has slotted into Monfils' place in the draw.
The entry deadline is 13.00 GMT (2 pm UK / 15.00 CET / 09.00 New York time) on Monday - if you do decide to enter, good luck!

Sorry about that - a one-off glitch that only lasted a few minutes by the looks of it, because nobody else seems to have had similar problems and I doubt any entries were lost because I received yours 6 times, which suggests they were getting through even when you were getting that error.

They include entrants from 39 different countries and three entrants who we have confirmed to be ITF pros (plus a couple more who claim to be but we're not convinced), one of whom has even managed to win a Davis Cup rubber!

20 BT entrants in the end (the same as for Wimby) out of 218 entrants from no less than 42 countries in total, including Ken "I WILL win" Thomas from Radio Tennis who has not made an auspicious start.
BT are 3rd after day 1, behind early leaders MTF and stevegtennis (aka the MTF 'B' team, I think!) but Jack is 4th= just behind the 3 leaders, who are all from MTF. Billy the Bookie had a good day (note the correlation with which team's leading ) but Roberta the rankings bot is way down the list!
Good luck for the rest of the competition everyone
