Glad to see Faris win, I have been asked to work with him as of September, I feel he could have a big year in 2008 given the right training & run up. I will look with interest on how he does this week.

I agree, I like his game but without sounding harsh I felt he has under achieved these past few years. If he works hard, buys in to improving & getting better, he can start to fulfil some of his huge potential. Good win today too the guy he beat was at both the previous tournaments & was a toughie, especially on clay & very mentally strong & much better than his ranking!! Good win Faris!!

Looks like they are trying to get the grading increased, I knew Igy was playing this week as he is being paid too, which is another sign they are trying to get the grading up from a 3 to perhaps a 2 or a 1 even?

I guess that there'll be one since we have been having them for ages.
I don't like them, for that matter, because there's just no point in taking people who aren't at their best on clay. People who don't favour clay too much should be taken to Asia. If Cox had gone there, he would have been seeded at the US Open this year.
I would like to see Carpenter and Marsalek going to South America next year. But will they?
Faris Akhassan was the only Brit to win a match and he has also won his second round match against Sitaram(Ind), ranked 283. No score is given. His quarter final opponent is Rumyantzev (Rus), ranked 326.
Faris also reached the semi-finals of the doubles. He seems to have chosen a decent partner in the Belorussian world no 1. Ignatik. They won 1&4.
