Next up is an Italian Qualifier, Vaglietti, ranked 1140 who beat Richardson in the first round.

So he needs to be taken seriously.

I've just noticed that Angus has also made the doubles semis with Dominic Hodgson. Thompson (playing with Karunudey Singh) has also made it to the semis....the other one.

So we may yet have a 3/4 Brit Finalbiggrin

Although it's going to be very difficult, if he somehow takes the title here, he'll have a ranking that'll be good enough to get him into the Australian Open.


Garanganga needs to lose. If he takes the title, he'll remain ranked ahead of Dyce and Cox and they may miss out on a direct entry into the USO (deadline is this Monday).

Niall appears to have had a good day on Friday. The scores are not yet up on the website but Saturdays OOP is.....

The boy's singles final is between Garanganga (1) and Angus biggrin

...while the doubles final is between


(3)Sanders (Aus)/Huang(Tpe) and Hodgson/Angus.biggrin


More good news Vikki Brook made the doubles final.biggrin


Even as I type this the drawsheet has been updated Angus won 2&3.
Hodgson/Angus had a walkover. Thomson lost his doubles 1&1cry

Angus will be inside 150 ITF after this week, that is more than goos enough for Aussie next year & he still has 4 months or so, to improve his ranking further. I thought official closing date for USO was 6th Aug? Cox will get point for Euros too, I believe so as long as he earns more than his lowest points, he will be ok! Team events usually carry nice points!

Which is next Fri? odd for a closing date? must be an error, we have Mon 6th on our info but will check it out as don't want any players to miss the closing date!!

Despite that defeat Angus' last two weeks show great promise!

Will he make the US Open qualies?

Can't wait to see him in 4 junior slams next year!

Goldenslam, the deadline is definitely 3rd August as the Factsheet mentions that, too.
