RVTA Junior Open G2 South Africa (Boys & Girls)

We have a few boys & girls in this, fingers crossed Niall Angus can build on last week & take a title. Vicky Brook will be unseeded here but given a kind 1st match expect her to cause an upset or 2. All our guys should look to avoid Ricky Hampel for Czech, very flashy player & on his day, unplayable!! Would be grateful on any news on this one as the site is down!!

RE: RVTA Junior Open G2 South Africa (Boys & Girls)

All the British girls won their 1st round matches, & all have winnable 2nd matches too. Hodgson did well to take it to 6 & 6 with Hampel, although Angus beat him last week so he may not be playing well? Richo lost weirdface shame but I agree Angus has a got to be HAPPY with his draw!!! Hopefully our girls will go deep in the draw!!

Angus actually beat Happy last week 7-5 6-3 , so fingers crossed he will do the same this week, if he wins he will break the top 200 for the first time & will be sure to be direct acceptance for the Australian Open in Jan.

Thanks. His resume is getting impressive!

Two coaches who've been there too! Nice that he can play on clay, or is he just the best of a bunch? I know that sounds harsh but just wondered if any of our lads were real clay dudes like rafa or Boluda...

As can Cox and Dyce.

Although they are far better on hard courts.

The guys I listed above would be at or near their best on a clay court, yes Cox & Dyce can play on clay but I doubt they would list it as a favoured surface. We have a lot of guys now who can play on clay but only a handful who would say it is or one of their favourite surfaces.

Cheers Arka.

Shame the girls got dumped, all pretty straight forwards as well. Angus is now inside 200 ITF & pretty much Aussie Open!!! Good win for Thompson, Hampel took a tumble - must not have been playing well. Keep going Niall!!!!!!
