Boys - Slazenger Winchester 87th Tennis Tournament - 2007

They have all sorts of age groups in this one, but the only ones which are international/continental are the 16s and 18s event.

Entry lists for the 16 & under Cat 3 event and the 18 & under G4:

http://www.thewinchesterclub.net/ACCEPTANCES.pdf

The ITF field is embarrassingly weak. ashamed.gif Last year we had Willis, Pauffley, Milton, Childs, Barnes and a few other top players.

Hopefully Matt James will take the title.

This event is going to continue to get worse unless they sort out the organisation of the event, they try & do too much in 1 week!! By far it is most players least favorite event -2 different sites, different surfaces & the draw sizes are just laughable!! Alex Bull has pulled out to play a G4 in Berlin & Coupland is playing Frinton. Knightsy, Smethurst & Barnes didn't even bother to enter! Matt James should pick up another cheap ITF title!

If James wins the title here, his ranking will go up to around 160. And he can improve on that by winning some matches in doubles.

He needs to get his ranking to around 120 by December to play in the Australian Open.

Hopefully Jennifer Ren can have a good tournament and climb higher here.

Didn't realise Matt would go this high, good for him although I think he will struggle to pick up wins at the highier graded events especially as so many are played on slow surfaces, on faster surfaces he can compete & win.

Matt James V Chris Nott final do you think? thats my bet! I fancy Nott (if he ges there) to nick the title, but he is more vunerable than James, so may suffer an upset. Peak for Peak Notty should win it but James is in form.

surprised but not surprised, knew notty cold be beaten early but thought he had enough to win the final. Marcus Willis & Neil Pauffley think Watling will cause the upset? I think I have to go with James on this one, maybe I could win my money back from the boys????
