Marsalek's playing some good tennis out here. He qualified with scores of 63 62, 60 60 and 64 63 and won his first round match in three sets.

Unfortunately he now faces top seed Mohammed Safwat, who's ranked 67 in the world.

Well, that's a decent effort by a player ranked so low playing against a top 100 player for the first time. He didn't get into the doubles (or else didn't bother to play) so that's it for him this week.
