playin cricket just a little bit further up north in middlesborough[...]
Middlesbrough, please - & don't bother disputing the challenge: I was born & brought up there! M's also 120 miles or so north east of Nottingham, so it's a poor indicator of the weather conditions there...!
I know it sounds stupid but I'm sure some of these Brits would have a better chance if they played S'Hertogenbosch because the qualies draw is even weaker than Nottingham and the cut is BYES.
Baker would be seeded 3 and a shoe in to qualify. Same for Goodall or Marray. And then they at least get 5 points with main draw wins a bonus. And some of the more obscure Brits would stand a better chance too I tihnk.
Also, why no Jim May in Nottingham? Can anyone shed light on that. In his form he could qualify?
Yes, but players don't know from before whether the cut would be low or not. The cut in Den Bosch was 861 last year.
Also, the third wild card was unknown till the last day. Baker and Goodall could have landed in Netherlands and received a phone call saying that they have secured a wild card into Nottingham.
