Pick 'Em Hamburg - Practice Week

I've already lost Robredo of my semi-finalists so only 3 possibles left (same 3 as ASE minus Davydenko)

And, I controversially went against Rafa in the final - time will tell if that was wise, although I suspect I already know the answer!

I'm top! Won't stay there though. Have Andy beating Rafa in semis.

And my 'off the wall' predictions have now gone like Humpty Dumpty!  Oh well, being on top was nice while it lasted...

This is where the fun starts - as we drip feed information to each other about what our selections are. In theory, the person running the game could post all that at the start of the game, but I think that it is more fun when the info trickes out like this!

I am more than a little surprised that I was so conservative as to have the top 4 seeds in the semis - I'm not normally a Davydenko fan, but he did play well last week on clay, so I stuck with him

But I'm not wholly conservative - I have Djoko beating Fed in the semis (and the way that Fed is playing at the moment, I'm not even confident that he will get that far!).

Doh! ALL of mine are losing today it seems - I'm gonna end up last at this rate - oh well, it's only a practice round, not to be taken at all seriously.... I'm just warming up for the FO and will, hopefully, learn from my mistakes here.

Have I ended up in some strange parallel universe, or ...

- is Hewitt really a break up in the final set against the Undertaker on slow clay?
- is Nieminen really a break up in the final set against Djokovic?
- is Melzer really a set up against Gonzo?

... and more to the point, are those three things really all happening at the same time?

It looks like we've entered the twilight zone ...

Maybe I've flipped back into the real world - Kolya's broken back, Nole's broken back and Gonzo has won the 2nd and gone a break up in the 3rd.

Didn't expect any of those to go to three sets though.

Funny old tourney this one. Just when we thought we could predict clay. Wouldn't mind if Melzer won, though - I had Gonzo losing here, but expected Dammit to have got through. Davydenko or Nole going out here would leave me seriously struggling to beat the gorillas.

With Hewitt now a break up again v Davydenko....will ASE become the first person to finish below Kong ?? biggrin.gif

I very much doubt it, I'm more likely to!

I thought someone from AM.com managed it at Monte Carlo or Rome?

Yup: Donna at Monte Carlo!

I think that we are, in fact, all already safe - the gorillas will presumably end up with 31.38 (as they did in the last 2 masters done on the same draw basis), and we all have more than that.

The gorilla's score will be slightly different here as I'm using the exact figure rather than the fudge.
