Federer losing gives me a chance to beat King Kong I think. I now have 2 semi finalists left, no finalists, but hopefully Acasuso can progress and Nadal will lose in semis. That's best case for me right now.
Fed losing only disadvantages Roberta (who picks the higher-ranked player in every match), not kingkong (picks at random) - kingkong will finish on 31.38, so everyone's already sure to finish ahead of the gorillas.

Thanks Rochelle, it's been good to find some unexpected clay court form.

How on earth did he manage it after such a dire 3 days !! ?????
Six answers: Berdych, Gonzo, Robredo, Undertaker, Djoko, Rafa. The only quarter-finalists he didn't get were Volandri (naturally) and Chela. (I got Chela but not Robredo, which is why we both got 24 points yesterday)
You, on the other hand, have just Berdych, Gonzo & Rafa left, having also predicted Fed, Ferrer, Andy, JCF and Haas to get there. Did you think Novak would be tired after last week and lose to Tommy?
All the remaining picks that you could possibly get right, the Count has predicted the same thing, so I can officially confirm that the shed is ready and waiting for you.

well...after that shocker of an opening round from the Count, I still can't believe what's happened !
Anyway...after several hammerings, I had to let him win sometime And also, I never bet that I'd go in the shed if the Count beat me this time...only in Monte Carlo
A very convincing win by Rafa over Djoko leaves the scores like this with one QF still to play:
AndyMurray.com lead BritishTennis.net by an average of 57.21-55.65 points per team member after 51 matches.

It's time to cheer like mad for Gonzo - not just for my benefit, but because amazingly we still have a theoretical chance of winning the team comp! Read on to find out why ...
Gonzo-Chela is the last match for which anyone can score points in the top half of the draw and only Rafa can still score points for anyone in the bottom half of the draw.
If Chela beats Gonzo, AM.com will definitely be the first board to get a 'double first' - BT.net won't be able to catch them in the team competition and AllyB (AM) will win the individual competition.
If Gonzo beats Chela, I'll be the first player from BT.net to win the individual in one of these inter-board competitions and the team competition won't be over. Instead, it will all hinge on the fact that while a higher percentage of AMs have picked Rafa to win the Final, a higher proportion of BTs have picked him to reach it.
If Gonzo beats Chela and Rafa reaches the Final then loses to Volandri or Gonzo, then BT.net will win by a fraction of a point and BT will be the first board to get a 'double first', but if Gonzo beats Chela and Rafa goes on to win the title, AM.com will win the team comp by some distance and we will have different boards winning the team and individual again.
I can't realistically see AM.com not winning the team competition unless we send sheddie the sniper out to the Foro Italico to take Rafa out after he's beaten the Undertaker tomorrow (indeed, I expect Chela to beat Gonzo tonight anyway given their form so far this week, so sheddie can stop polishing his weapon ), but it's nice that it might still be in doubt until the Final.
Whatever happens tonight, positions lower down in the individual competition will continue to depend on whether Rafa gets to and/or wins the Final, so some positions should be in doubt until after the Final, assuming Rafa does reach it.
There's been a lot of wanting a player to win in one round then lose in the next in this competition!

Seeing as there still seems to be a number of individuals wanting to participate in a Hamburg Pick'Em, and that they have ceremoniously been told not to run it themselves on the AM board, would you mind if I ran an individual comp here, shamelessly borrowing your spreadsheet, allowing them to keep their interest up and attracting more people to this message board!!!???
I've now emailed you the Excel file and full instructions. I haven't cut out instructions you don't need, because I want to make sure that the last email I've sent out with instructions always contains a set that is complete and up to date, because otherwise next time I need to send them out, I'll forget what needs to be added back.
However, you can ignore the bits in green which are only relevant if you're doing a team comp and/or publishing the results to the web rather than just on a message board.
Unfortunately, adding (and checking) the instructions for the bits I've always done myself in the past took over an hour, which is exactly what I was trying to avoid given how hassly this weekend is, but they were always going to need to be added sometime, so in some ways I'm quite relieved I've done them now.
Anyway, I hope it all works for you and that your practice comp is a success. Any problems/suggestions re. the sheets, do let me know, and don't worry if you don't get a fast reply over the next few days, it won't mean I've forgotten you!
Steven
