Pick 'Em returns in Rome (BT.net v AM.com - can we continue the dominance?)

After the first match is finished (Tim lostcry.gif) we find that BT.net are the less patriotic of the two teams.

BritishTennis.net lead AndyMurray.com by an average of 0.82-0.79 points per team member after 1 matches.

Congrats to Drew, John and myself who were the only BT's to stand firm behind Tigger. Congrats to everyone else who actually got the results correct!

2/2 at the moment, but it isn't going to stay at that level I don't think, especially seeing where the qualifiers were placed as well

It also looks like I was the only one to pick Simon over Murray, which is a bit of a surprise, as Simon is a clay courter, while Murray isn't, has never looked too good on clay, and hasn't played on it this year... hope I'm wrong, but I really do see Simon winning

Damn you tigger lol, looks like my challenge has ended prematurely once again. My only hope now is for Fed to lose early.

Tursonov may not be great on clay, but he is a lot better on it than Bjorkman is.

3/3 so far, with Acasuso and Hewitt looking nicely poised as well

I don't like Rome. There are only two people who have failed to get more than 50% right, and I'm one of them. Tim and Jonas let me down - actually I'm blaming the second one on Dima, you should be able to rely on him to lose on clay, especially on the one occasion I voted with my head instead of my heart. furious.gif

All of you who are blaming Tursonov for winning on clay.... you do realise that the last time Bjorkman won a singles match on clay was in 2004 against the clay court God known as Taylor Dent, don't you???

In fact, the only people he has beaten on clay since the end of 2003 are Dent and Nicolas Mahut (another serve volleyer)

4/4 for me, but unfortunately as I picked before the qualifiers were placed, I have Melzer to beat Canas, and that simply isn't going to happen, and it looks like Simon and Hewitt and throwing away leads as well

and the all important question of where Sheddie is in relation to Count?...bad news for the Count, the Shedmeister is sitting pretty at 25th  (still below Rochelle) but Count is our current leader in the race to the wooden spoon down in 41st place. But all is still to play for.
