Pick 'em contest - Miami AMS (with am.com v bt.net challenge)

The entry sheet with qualifiers placed in the draw is now downloadable via http://www.britishtennis.net/Competitions.html - it's the same link but the files have been updated.

If anyone has started and doesn't want to re-download but would like to know who each Qualifier/LL in the original sheet is, here they are:

Qualifier/LL 1 = (Q) Guillermo Canas ARG
Qualifier/LL 2 = (Q) Kevin Kim USA
Qualifier/LL 3 = (Q) Amer Delic USA
Qualifier/LL 4 = (Q) Andreas Seppi ITA
Qualifier/LL 5 = (LL) Evgeny Korolev RUS
Qualifier/LL 6 = (Q) Raemon Sluiter NED
Qualifier/LL 7 = (Q) Robin Haase NED
Qualifier/LL 8 = (Q) Simone Bolelli ITA
Qualifier/LL 9 = (Q) Chris Guccione AUS
Qualifier/LL 10 = (Q) Feliciano Lopez ESP
Qualifier/LL 11 = (Q) Teimuraz Gabashvili RUS
Qualifier/LL 12 = (Q) Ivo Karlovic CRO
Qualifier/LL 13 = (Q) Ricardo Mello BRA

N.B. This is going to be the results thread that I link to from the results web page, so please keep the team discussion on the other thread until the tournament starts.

Problem being that I don't have Excel so it doesn't give me the option of typing in the password. Says I have to go into the program that created it and decrypt it then resave it.

I've just posted the results following the first 9 matches, i.e. those that completed before the latest rain delay and ...

WE'RE IN THE LEAD 93-79!

5 of those 9 matches have been rankings upsets  (which means that King Kong with 4.5 rounded up to 5 is ahead of Roberta on 4 in the Robot War - never thought I'd see that happen!), but even so I'm amazed that the highest individual score is just 5 out of 9.

Everybody has at least 1 point though and all of us have at least 2.

Full results so far: http://www.britishtennis.net/2007mi.htm

I'm going to start another thread with an analysis of each team's R1 picks.

Since Karlovic is just about to lose I'll say this while I still can - I'm in the lead on 8/12 (that'll be my highpoint of the contest - the only way now is down )

Less transient good news is that Llodra and Lopez's wins have gained us yet more points relative to the Murrays.

BritishTennis.net lead AndyMurray.com by 141-108 after 12 matches.

Boggo watching pays off - 12 of us picked Sluiter to beat Guga (he stuffed him 2 & 2), giving us our best swing of the night (+12), even though less than half of us got it right.

The non-Boggo watchers at AM.com all went for Guga!

BritishTennis.net lead AndyMurray.com by 161-126 after 14 matches.

The whole of the top 8 individually are BritishTennis team members.

Hmmm, we don't want to put the AM mob off completely do we?

As we know all too well, the results of the first round pale into insignificance compared to results later in the tournament, so we should maybe bask in the glory while we have the lead!!

Yes, exactly LOL Guccione just had two MPs to put me two points clear at the top too ... but lost the 2nd set t/b 10-8 in the end. If Serra wins, 6 of us (including you) end up at the top on 10 points, all from BT.

This thread had dropped off the front page, so I thought I'd better remind people reading our team's thread about this that the actual results appear in this one. If you haven't had a look at the detailed results page yet, it's well worth it just to see how many of our team are at the top.

BritishTennis.net lead AndyMurray.com by 316-261 after 26 matches.

Full results can be found at http://www.britishtennis.net/2007mi.htm

Hopefully someone will be able to do the web page updates while I am away (Friday-Monday), there are three possibles, but the trial tonight with sheddie wasn't a great success.

Josh is great at the updates on here though.

Good luck everyone!
