Just need Ljuby and Nalby to have 'mares and we're talking a 100% result

Hmm. Pins don't seem very effective sometimes - I was using a flame thrower to kill weeds today, and the thought occurred to me that a flame thrower would make a fair mess of a wax model or two. . .

ooo- errrrr bit of a last resort though - you'd not be able to re- use that model in a different tournament......maybe best to save it up for Wimbledon?

Well Nalbandian committed Hara-Kiri for us but Ljubicic - barely - survived.

Can't have it all I guess

Things are breaking very nicely in Murray's favour, though - if he can pass Mathieu and Roddick he seems likely to secure that top 10 spot, possibly even #9

The best possible scenario is a ranking of 9.

He can be overtaken by:
Ljubicic, if he reaches the quarters.
Djokovic, if he reaches the quarters.

Well 11th is *almost* a lock. Ferrer winning it? No, I don't think so.

The big problem is that with Ljubicic and Djokovic, to be honest, very likely to reach the QFs, it seems like 11th will still be the only reward if Murray does lose in the semis. He would have a good lock on it though and hopefully be able to make the final breach early on in the clay season.

At least now we can stop worrying about anybody overtaking (Ferrer winning the whole thing? Nah), and concentrate our powers on those just ahead of him in the table.

Not much hope in the next round though I fear.

I believe that this win takes Andy to 2025 points. As far as I can see he is the first player ranked 11 to have more than 2000 points since Tommy Haas in Jan 2003.

This shows how unlucky Andy is not to have broken into the Top 10 already. evileye

If my quick mental calculations are right, Andy needs to get to the final to jump into the top 10 cry, whereas Djoko has just passed Haas and Blake for 8 *groan*...

The updated Table is posted here (On Britishtennis.net)

Ljubicic beat Nieminen and Djokovic beat Lopez both rise past Blake and Haas to 7th and 8th respectively. Robredo won. Ferrer goes out, so Andy's safe. Nieminen also goes out.

Expect Chela to make an appearance on the table soon - he's on ominously good formwith the Clay court season about to kick off....

Today, we have Andy vs A-Rod part 6, and Djokovic vs Nadal.......

So, do we want Nole to go out, so that Andy can get past him and reach the top 10 if he makes the semis, and so that Andy can have another go at beating Rafa?

Or do we want Nole to win, so that Andy can have revenge for Indian Wells......
