You know Andy's been hanging around with Tigger too much when ...
(and I know this is shallow, but I couldn't resist!)
... he goes and smashes his 'y'know' record!
75, that's SEVENTY-FIVE 'you knows' in a single interview. The interview included the classic answer:
"Yeah, well, I think, you know, because, you know, like, JP wasn't here, you know, I've worked with him for three and a half, four years now, and he knows my body really well. You know, he -- we spoke about maybe having surgery on my ankle, you know, at the end of last year, you know, because it is kind of weak, that, you know, I think maybe his, you know, his input would have helped a lot. But, you know, since I was here on my own, I had to decide. And I didn't know till I got out on the court how bad it was gonna be. But it's kind of difficult to make that decision, I guess, on your own. Brad's not a physio or a doctor. You know, and he just asked me how I was, and I said, you know, "I'm doing better," you know, "I'll go and give it a go." You know, I did and it was maybe the wrong decision. But, you know, the physio here has been a great help, and you know, helped me through my match last night and taped me up and stuff today." So, you know, I appreciate that. But it's just when you have somebody who knows your body and has worked with you for four or five years, that that helps as well.
That record may never be beaten!

Poor Andy - I wonder if he even notices he says it so often? It's amazing - he manages to fit three 'you know's' into a space of 15 words at one stage in the interview.

Tim Henman: "I'm just going to, you know, take it step by step, tournament by tournament. And, you know, as I said, you know, it's a good schedule coming up. You know, it's a tough one."
Less than 30 in the whole interview though - as in other ways, he just can't keep up with Andy any more - the going rate must be about 1 y'know per interview per 4-5 ranking points ...

I am a bit worried about his ankles, to be honest. I was seeing the reply of the match yesterday and I think that if Andy doesn't take care of himself he could have his career cut short by a good few years.
He should play less on hard courts, even though that seems very unlikely. Clay and grass aren't that harsh on the lower half of one's body. I would like to see him go for just Kooyong, San Jose, Barca, Queen's, Washington and Tokyo from next year onwards.
The thing about him considering have an operation on the ankle is interesting. Obviously he had the bad knee injury as well so you could be right about him having to cut out as many hard-court tournaments. Unfortunately for Andy - hard is his best surface and as the grass court season is practically only 3 tournaments and he's probably not going to be a great clay-court player it's not going to be something I think he is going to do.
The worry is that movement is such a big part of his game - he doesn't really have the consistantly big shots to compensate if he can't move around.
At least Brad has tried to stop him diving and he doesn't slide around like Monfils so hopefully it's just a matter of being smart (and lucky) on court. As bad as his fall against Haas was - it could have been so much worse so I guess he has to look at it that way.
