ATP Indian Wells QF : Murray v Haas

Madeline, it's the right ankle, which is not the (normally) heavily strapped one.

I dispute the Sky commentators, he has given no indication on hip problems.

Andy has (as I'm writing) won the second set!!!!!

He does have an injury to the ankle, the question is whether he is running it off, or is it pure adrenaline (which normally runs out 20-30 mins after an injury)?

Madeline - yup, it is the ankle he has the brace on thankfully. It looked bad - amazing he didn't break it.

Maroonsox - I think it's just the way you jerk your body after a fall like that. I slipped down some stairs and bashed my right side, but my left shoulder actually hurt more because of the way jerked myself to save the fall. It's probably something like that with his hip. The way he changed momentum as he fell must have tweaked something.

1-0, andy got a bad cut on his leg from the fall

If he's making it worse, it could really put the cat among the DC pigeons. Had to happen ...

Oh yeah! I'd completely forgotten the DC, was busy worrying about Miami. If it's really a DC missing injury I think Andy would've retired by now (I hope so anyway!)

I'm pretty sure they're correct. After they came back from the adverts I saw the trainer rub his back/hip before leaving. Then after the second set before the adverts came on I saw him put a towel on the court and lie on it in preparation for the trainer.

He also seems to be putting more weight on that side. Would seem natural since it is his left ankle that's hurting.

Thanks for the info, all. Much better than just watching a scoreboard.

BP's not taken. . .

Just missed two BP's on Haas' serve. I hope that doesn't come back to bite him. First one was well saved by Haas, second one was a shot out by Andy.

He has another one now. C'mon Andy - you need to take this.

Not wanting to argue with anyone, and accepting my judgement is alcohol effected, but I don't have adverts, I thought the hip and back massage was just general.

Note the skinned right knee, which I thought occurred in the same incident, i.e. he fell badly on his right side.

Anyway, it's irrelevant. Andy's fighting!

And the movement seems to have returned

guys watching, how is Andy dealing with the injuries? Is he making it clear he has them or just getting on with the job? (I ask as in the past he's been criticised for showing too much weakness to the opponent and giving them the pyschological upperhand).

Another BP goes begging. Haas is doing pretty well on them to be fair but still - that's 4 in this game. Haas is being much more aggressive and charging the net now and has the Ad. Back to Deuce again. C'mon, Andy. And he breaks.

No, he's not showing the injuries - he's not moving as well (although that's improving) but he's not holding his leg or stretching or anything between points.
