By the way, a win in this match is worth 100 points, more than the first two wins for a seed in Miami, so maybe that's what's stopped Andy from retiring ...

How quiet has Andy been in this match? With everything that has gone wrong for him in it - from the blister, to the fall, to the broken string if he was ever entitled to go off on one it would have been today but he's just got his head down, kept his cool and concentrated on what he has to do to stay in the match. It's so impressive.
This is a big game for him coming up. He needs to focus really hard here because Haas will come out swinging.

That's true but I'd like to believe that Andy would retire if it was going to damage him further to continue, he's had experience of being out for 6 months and can't want that to happen again as more than 100 points would be lost.
Aria, I'm pretty impressed with Andy's behaviour this evening as well (from what you lucky people with Sky have been saying) we all know he's been trying to work on channeling his emotions in the right direction and from the scoreline I'd say it looks like he's worked out how
Of course as I right Andy goes two break points down. saves the first....

Back to 15-30. Two aces here would be great Andy - please. Gah - he gets a good first serve in but a great return from Haas and Andy ends up netting. 15-40. :(
andy to serve 0-15 backhand long 0-30 haas easy gets to the dropshot but andy hits the net cord and just drops on the wrong side 15-30 some powerful forehands and then good smash from andy 15-40 andy hit good serve and drive volley but andy can't put the volley away 30-40, haas at net and andy passes him, 2nd bp now game haas, both were agressive but haas finds the backhand winner
I'd hope if there was any risk of him being out for a long period, he'd have retired right away! What I said only applies if it's not too bad but he feels that if he plays on today it might be best to miss Miami. Of course, it's never so clear cut that you know exactly how much worse you could make it ... if only it was!
Edit: of course, if he loses AND ends up out of Miami, that really would be silly.
