I didn't get the chance to ask him yesterday, but will do it today or tomorrow.

I now see that he had to retire from his semifinal:

Lewis Barnes [286] lost to second seed Jaan-Frederik Brunken [203] of Germany by 26 01 retd.


A real shame as he was playing some brilliant tennis out here. He is due to travel to Tunisia for two Grade 3s in two weeks time.

Lewis goes up by 24 places to 262.

Hopefully he'll maintain this form and get his deserved wild card into Roehampton and Wimbly.

Lewis has a back injury. He is better now, but it's still not certain that he'll be able to make the trip to North Africa.

Hopefully he'll recover soon.

backs are so hard to keep well once you've hurt them. I've has a bad back for 10 years and I'm only 25!
