ATP San Jose 2007 : Singles Final : Murray v Karlovic

Serving machine holds to 15. Andy could do with an easy service game here. And he starts with a nice point, and then uses a drop to go 30-0. Then nets with a poor UE to go 30-15. Decent return from Ivo gets netted to go 30-30

So much for an easy hold. :( Ivo has another BP after Andy goes wide. He cannot find a first serve but thankfully Ivo sends the return long to take it to deuce.

Great point from Andy - gets the first serve in, Ivo gets in control of the point and looks to have nailed a great volley only for Andy to chase it down and belt an outstanding winner curling into court.

Holds eventually.

I could do with a few fewer "Andy Murray, the pride of Scotland", too!

3-2

Too many second serves in this game, at break point Andy went at the bh Ivo ran round it as he knew where it was going and swung but hit long.

Brilliant winner at deuce. It looked like Karlovic had the point won but Andy chased it and hit the ball with a foot on the outside tramline into the corner of the opposite court.

The surface is about 40 per cent faster this year so Karlovic feels Goran's power.

He's obviously got them a bit too well-trained!

Deuce again. At least Ivo is doing a little more in this set right enough so it won't feel as bad if he does win this match (okay, I lie a little there - it will feel bad if he wins this match because his serve is the only thing making this close and that annoys me - unfair as it may be, it does annoy me.)

Jamie and Eric have joined the crowd.

Andy came mighty close to a double fault at deuce but just about got away with it.

Croatian players and their motto: if you don't lose your serve, you can't lose.
