One final thing before I go. Could I suggest that we don't create a 'final' thread until later in the morning (I'm thinking 8:30/9) as all those who want to read through in the morning may prefer not to knwo the score beforehand.
Just a suggestion. Now I really am off to bed before i fall asleep.

Woke up at 4.30, went to the next room to check teletext, the BBC (shame on them!) had nothing at all, but ITV had the result. Couldn't get back to sleep after that, so now I will read the full thread. Very many thanks to those night owls who provided my reading!
Andy out ace-ing Roddick doesn't actually surprise me, like I said he really seemed to be able to read Roddicks serve and would often lean into position before Roddick had even hit the ball. There was not one incident when he leaned the wrong way.
I am very happy to be wrong in my three set defeat prediction. I will stand here in my wrongness and be wrong. (That's a west wing quote for anyone who has seen it).

After a tense and close first set, Murray finally came out of it with a win. The final score was 7-6 to A Murray (8-6). Both players had many chances of breaking early on, but the first break went to Murray at 4-4 in the 1st to make it 5-4.Murray was then unable to hold onto his lead and serve for the set as Roddick broke back to level. The 1st set then when to a tie break where again the scene was tense and both players traded mini breaks early on. This set was played with a very competitive nature. Murray played some amazing defensive shots and some blinding trademark backhands down the line, Roddick was closing in at the net most opportunities he got which made it difficult for Murray to pass him . Roddicks serve was on fire with 79% of his 1st serves going in compared to Murray’s 46% , but even with a low serve % Murray out aced the big serving American by wiping up 8 aces compared to Roddicks 5 aces
Early in the 2nd setMurray manages to brake at 2-2 to go 3-2. After a tense and close service game after the initial brake Murray manages to hold and lead by 4-2. Both players played some blinding shots and rallies. Roddick played an amazing backhand down the line to get break back point at 4-3 but was unable to capitalise in order to break back due to some amazing defence work by Murray. Roddick then had an easy hold but Murray was still a break up. Murray then served for the set at 5-4 and won the second set 6-4
Roddick was the player who got frustrated by his game and shot selection. He managed to get right under his own skin with a continuous muttering to himself about what he could have done better or should have done better ,
This match was played well by both players and although A-Rod played some great shots he never really bothered Andy Murray to much. Andy’s 1st serve % was up to a respectful 63% in the 2nd set and he won 88% of points on that 1st serve. This was a great match for Murray to win . Well done .
Final score- Murray won in straight sets 7-6, 6-4
Murray has now made the final of this event for the second year running and will be hoping for a win over Ivo Karlovic in order to maintain his title.
This result REALLY has the Roddick fans gnashing their teeth - I think they thought after Cincinnati and Kooyong Roddick has Murray's number and now they realise that...maybe not.
It's quite funny reading how they hate Murray and find him obnoxious and really hope Karlovic wins today
Generally speaking, I don't dislike many players for themselves, but some of their fans (on MTF anyway) are so annoying it starts to cloud your judgement of the player.
