Sorry....great tie breaker....there are scoreboards out there where you can get the score I thought I'd try to watch the match too and tell you what a great match it was.
Lee played great....Andy really raised his game...great win.......this was a ton of fun to watch.....great quality tennis esp in the tie break....
i cant wait for the A-Rod match tomorrow. but MUrray will have to raise his game alot of he wants a chance of beating Roddick, but saying that Spadea took A-Rod to 3 sets today
Andy gave credit to Lee for breaking him at 6-5 in the third....he also said it was a great match and Lee played really well....he pointed out that he felt tired and thanked the crowd for being so behind him even though he is not from here (the States).
For the Roddick match he feels he has to return well and it will be tough....also he doubts the crowd will be for him for that match...the crowd didn't laugh....they are from Northern California...went straight over their heads and didn't realize he was trying to be funny...if he said that in LA they would laugh and clap for him....lol
But 46% 1st serves in 34%/39% return points won - that's slightly worse than against Pless
Very little rhythm off the ground from Murray throughout the match - he really struggled at times especially getting 2nd serve returns into play. Lee played a good first set then took a nosedive in the second. Both struggled for large parts of set 3 with good points interspersed with a lot of UEs. It's a shame the stats don't show UEs because I think they were pretty high from both men.
Still, he got there in the end. Even so he should have served it out at 6-5 when he finally had the MP.
Too close for comfort - needs to play a good bit better against Roddick.
The good thing is he usually brings a big peformance to a big match.

Man, that wasn't that pretty, though.
It got a lot better towards the end - thankfully.

The good thing is he usually brings a big peformance to a big match. The good thing about Andys under par performance is that he never usually has two matches like that in a row....he also likes the big matches...repeat of last years semi...hope for the same result !
He's a big match player and maybe he didn't think this was a big match - it certainly was flat intensity-wise at the start - that rose gradually throughout the match when he realised Lee wasn't going to roll over.
I'm sure he'll come out much sharper against Roddick.
I certainly hope so. I'd love to see the same result as last year and stamp his authority back on the American.
Very many thanks to Doug for the commentary. I expected it to be all over by 6.30 and didn't set the alarm, so when I woke up at 7.30 I didn't hurry downstairs. It has been great reading it through from the start.
Maybe just as well I missed it, sounds like it would have done my blood pressure no good at all.
Thanks for the commentary Doug, it was great to be able to read through the whole match and get a sense for what happened. Glad Andy came through even if he did need the full three sets.
As has been said I think Andy will step up a level for the Roddick match, I sure hope so!
I'd love to see a Murray-Karlovic final as well, partly to see show how good Andy's returns really are and partly because I like Karlovic and think it's about time he starts doing well again after a load of injuries last year.
