Dan Evans did lose 6-3 6-2 to Rivera Aranguiz in the SF in Chile. Hopefully he is more used to the courts now and will be able to give him a tougher match.

Third round results:

Daniel Cox [63] beat Roman Jebavy [3] of the Czech Republic by 76 75.
Daniel Evans [52] beat Guillermo Rivera-Aranguiz [13] of Chile by 67 64 62.
David Rice [56] beat Rupesh Roy [28] of India by 06 60 61.


I was confident of him taking this one after last week's show, but what a weird scoreline for Ricey. But he won and that's what matters!

Another good comeback win for Evans. It's great to see him grind out a win against a top 20 player.

Brilliant is all that can be said of Cox's win. Jebavy is a clay courter and is physically much stronger than Dan. One of his best matches ever for sure.

Cox and friend lost in R1 of doubles

Inzerillo/Piro won through to a R2 contest with Evans/Rice

Evans and Rice beat Inze and Piro and are through to the quarters of doubles.

More likely that it was some high quality tennis from our boys.

Rice and Evans are fast becoming one of the best teams on the circuit. It'll be interesting to see them in the Slams later this year.

Cox should get a permanent partner! He doesn't earn as much from doubles as I would like him to and as he is capable of.

Will be very tough, but it's possible.

Cox lost to the same guy he is playing 75 62 and 61 61 in the last two weeks. He'll have to be at his very best to win.


Good chance of having a finalist from the other half.
